“Sometimes”. About the dream we keep holding on to, in spite of the rain.

15503808571_45138b96af

Sometimes clarity just doesn’t come. It’s obscured by clouds, by dreams, by fantasies. Obscured by magical thinking of “that something” which will wake us up from a dream and make us feel special… Whereas all we want is to make peace with ourselves and feel “our own creative spark” that we didn’t feel before. Sometimes that’s all.

Sometimes life brings you flowers. And sometimes it doesn’t. But it’s not the reason to not wake up every day happy. It’s not the reason to stay down. A flower is waiting for you right where you are. If you just manage to discover it.

Sometimes even compassion is not enough. You can get angry by not understanding something and nothing will help. Getting angry is healthy if you channel it the right way. It can cleanse your fears.

Where am I going with all this? To the point of nowhere. To stir you up a little bit, to make you find out where your own “sometimes” lies, that you’ve forgotten about, that you aspire to… Where is your magic “tomorrow” where everything’s gonna be alright and the spell will last? There is no such place. Yet we do this all the time. We create the whole worlds of illusions to dive into, like a swimming pool on a fairy island. You can have one too. But it’s good to know that you’re in a tale, a cartoon. And when this episode ends, you will remain right where you were, in the greyish shape of your reality. Grey is beautiful though. It’s a neutral state that allows you to notice all other colours; it’s a perfect background to all emotions. It’s the world that will last.

I guess you know now what your fantasy world is, but please be assured that the world of “normality” is so much more gratifying in the end. Fantasies are amazing but they are exactly as they are – fantasies. If only we could notice them sooner.

That’s where Zen comes in. It helps us recognize the “mind chatter” from the presence of our being that is available to us all the time no matter what storms are raging or what creations we are led to believe. It’s sustainable. It’s connected to your breath. It takes you on a journey that is real. Mind can trick you and bring you to a lot of unusual places. But at the end of the day the place is one – Here and Now.

I might end up with a flashy conclusion or a catchy phrase, but no. I’ll end up with a space. A space for your thoughts. Here you can write your own “sometimes”. If you dare to listen to your fantasy. It can tell you the truth of what you’re missing.

‘Particles and waves’ – my poem…

Particles and waves
by Anna Wawrzyniak

I once dreamed of a space
where all our senses would be uncovered
where we would see particles instead of colours
particles and waves

I once dreamed that we could
transcend our size and pervade into the molecules
to see them face to face
and notice what it feels like
not like through a microscope
particles and waves

I once dreamed that we could go
so far away
that we could see not only our planet
but most of the Universe
from a distance
particles and waves

Then I woke up
took a few steps
went round the corner
looked around
and here I am in this place
called the Earth
particles and waves

Positive, exciting, moving, touching, funny, heartfelt and brave. And yellow. My review of ‘The yellow world’ by Albert Espinosa

The Yellow World: Trust Your Dreams and They'll Come TrueThe Yellow World: Trust Your Dreams and They’ll Come True by Albert Espinosa
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Positive, exciting, moving, touching, funny, heartfelt and brave. And yellow.

First of all we get to know some bits from the story of a young boy who gets diagnosed with cancer… From here on it goes unconventionally. No dramatic stories, no tear-jerking episodes of heartbreak and loss, no grieving over lost time and health… Instead, we get discoveries. Various discoveries about life that were presented to him during these times, even though he did not understand some of them back then. Overheard conversations, insights, experiences… They are sometimes eye-opening; sometimes silly; sometimes moving.

Then we are delved into a magical world of yellows. A world that exists but that is not always noticeable, yet it happens to all of us. These people are really important in our lives. Who are yellows? Everyone has a certain amount of them in their life… Do you know how to find them?

This book is positive, exciting, moving, touching, funny, heartfelt and brave. The author clearly has fun writing it and enjoys sharing his deep thoughts, even from a long time ago. You can’t help but resonate with these young guys, ‘Eggheads’ as he puts it with an uplifting sense of humour, who despite their varyingly dire circumstances try to live their normal lives, share joys and jokes with each other, have dreams and best friends. It made me feel we often see a stereotypical, dark-painted picture when we hear the word ‘cancer’. On the other hand, he acknowledged it and befriended it. He even liked the word ‘tumour’. Not unsurprisingly, it rhymes with the word humour.

Trust your dreams and they’ll come true. Trust and true are very similar words, and they are similar because they are actually close to each other, really very close. So close that if you do trust something, it will come true.

Have you seen a yellow around you?

How to Achieve Big Dreams?

Here’s something for you, dreaming of achieving great things. Before you start mourning how far it is to reach your goal, let me tell you this (simple & proved):

Great-things-are-done-by

It does not matter that the goal you would like to reach is far away. As long as you take your first steps, you’ll get there, finally. It doesn’t have to be quick, but you will. People who don’t start will not get there at all. You may reach your destination at some point, or even if you don’t, you will land in some place you wouldn’t imagine in the first place, that can turn out to be… even better than that thing you’ve imagined for yourself! You never know.

So, here’s to making ambitious plans to achieve something you’ve really wanted for a long time (yes, you, and I know that there is such a thing) and to making first steps in order to do it. You may achieve it easier than you think. Or you may not. Anyway – you will be much happier because you’ve tried. You’ll ask yourself questions in the future about today and you’d better not hear the response: ‘I wish I had…’. ‘I did it’ sounds better to me. There is a widespread quote saying that in a year from now you’re gonna wish you had started today. And another one…

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. – Les Brown

Fingers crossed for your dreams.

What has inspired you today?

If you had all the time (and money) in the world, what would you LIKE to do?

Tension is who you think you should be.

Relaxation is who you are.

- Chinese proverb.

I find this to be extremely right. How often are we trapped in the jobs that we don’t like, relationships we don’t enjoy anymore or in doing things that do not bring us any good anymore? Yet we still do these things. Then the tension happens. Whenever you’re struggling too much, it’s a sign something’s not working… Or you are working in the wrong field for example…

So, RELAX.

And imagine this:

If you had all the time (and money) in the world, what would you LIKE to do?

Maybe the answer lays there…

Here are some things that inspired me today:

  •  There are thousands of versions of the Cinderella story in the world. And the oldest one of them (that we know of) comes not from Brothers Grimm, but… from China! – my Wikipedia enlightenment of the day.

  • This quote:

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

- Dr. Seuss

  • Some photos on Facebook & Twitter. I do share them sometimes on my page. Also quotes & other stuff…

Have a great weekend! I mean, really nice one, full of fun and some time just for you. JUST. FOR. YOU.

Enjoy :)

Let me know in the comments about your feelings :)

DREAM !!!

When was the last time when you had this gut feeling, that urge, that was driving you to do something that you wanted to do for a long time? Have you listened to it? There is a silent (well, sometimes loud!) voice in our mind that speaks to us and if only we dare to listen, we could do AWESOME THINGS and use our talents and potential and achieve extraordinary ambitions. If only we dare to listen – I repeat! Well… that’s not always the case. I know, we have work, commitments, distractions, other halves, stuff to do, or we’re simply tired and not bothering… But without doing what we actually dream of, we risk losing something very important in ourselves, that’s a part of who we are, really – not who we appear to be to the world through our roles (employee, mother, etc.), but who we really are inside and what we want to achieve. Therefore, it is CRUCIAL, really crucial to follow our dreams. Our internal path. Wherever they lead us to. It will always be somewhere special. Because, as someone said:

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will find yourself among the stars.

And that’s the place to be, isn’t it? This path will always be interesting.

If you’re still not sure where to start, here are some options to get you on the right track:

Stay tuned, there will be more posts about your dreams here! One by one. :) To prepare you for your journey. Not everything at once ;) A daily dose of inspiration. If you want several daily doses of inspiration, join me on Twitter or Facebook – links on the right or below. Keep dreaming. That’s what everyone says. Let me show you one video.

This is from 10 years ago, back from when Jessie J was not famous, she was 15 years old. When asked what her goal was, she said: ‘a number one single’. Well, it must have sounded quite confident and unrealistic from a 15-year old girl at that time. But then… look at what she is now. She’s over-achieved her dream many times. Impossible? Don’t let anybody tell you what you dream of is impossible. How can they know?

If you still don’t know where to start, watch the animated movie “Up” from Pixar – such a sincere tale about life, that people of any ages could enjoy it. See the characters’ dream and… don’t wait too long. Life is too short for that. Just do what you’re meant to do. Start NOW. You don’t have to finish reading, or even watch the video. I mean it. Start NOW. Feel what you want to do. And make the first step in that direction. You will be happier.

Have fun while realising your dream!
